Fast directional spherical wavelets for cosmology ------------------------------------------------- Cosmological observations are often made on the celestial sphere. In order to extend wavelet analysis to such full sky maps, the usual Euclidean wavelet analysis must be extended to spherical geometry. I will briefly describe the continuous spherical wavelet transform, and in particular our fast directional implementation. Cosmological applications will then be discussed, with particular attention paid to our recent work on a significant detection of non-Gaussianity in the WMAP 1-year data (astro-ph/0406604).
